Payment:
If you commit to purchase an instrument, you will have 48 hours to demonstrate that your payment is forthcoming. We accept personal or business checks, cashier’s checks, money orders (including international money orders made payable in US funds), wire transfers or cash. Unfortunately we are not able to accept credit cards (including PayPal).
All payments must clear prior to shipping. Shipping charges are not included in the price. To make matters easier, all purchasers within the US will be charged $125 for shipping and all international purchasers will be charged $400. This will include full insurance. Any duties assessed (including VAT, Use Taxes or other import duties) are the responsibility of the purchaser to pay. The price does not include any of these duties nor does it include Kentucky Sales Tax which is only charged to either Kentucky residents, or individuals who want to pick up their instrument in person.
Please make sure that any checks sent are made out to “Sligo Road Productions” and not to “Carroll Concertinas” as we will not be able to deposit them if they are made to “Carroll Concertinas.” Carroll Concertinas is the name of our product while the legal name of the business is Sligo Road Productions.
Issues after delivery:
All of our instruments leave our shop after several weeks of extensive playing, and when they leave, they will be in perfect condition. We cannot, however, guarantee that you won’t experience some issues once your instrument arrives due to the specific humidity levels in your area. Concertinas can be finicky due to the very tight tolerances between the tongues and reed shoes and the fact that the reed shoes are held in by friction. As a result, you may experience loose notes or buzzing reeds from time to time, particularly in the first year. This is normal and can be easily fixed with the repair kit that is included with your instrument and by either watching one of our repair videos or by getting in touch with us. We will be happy to work with you to get your instrument back in order but you need to be willing to open up your instrument and perform the necessary repairs. If you are not willing to do this, a vintage style concertina is probably not appropriate for you and so please do not purchase one of our instruments. Keeping your instrument around 50% relative humidity with an in room humidifier will help mitigate these issues.
